One of the trends we are seeing in networking and business in general is collaborative ways to work together.  Swap The Biz continues to be a leader in this arena as we encourage our members to create joint events with the simple purpose of sharing audience and increasing their credibility.

We live in a world where we are inundated by tons of information and people are continually educated.  To that end we all want the best in life – the best neighborhood, the best schools and the best service providers and products.  So, the question becomes, how do you get your marketing message out? If you had unlimited marketing dollars you could take out billboards, TV ads everywhere.  Well, that is not the case for most of us, so what are the alternatives.  Joining a business networking group is a baseline.  However, that is not enough – you need to have a plan to maximize the results.  Collaborating with other members is key.  Imagine if you did a joint talk and each of you have a goal of getting only 10 people each…and even if only 3 people showed up for your talk…the fruits it could bear for your business are amazing.

Raising your credibility for one – You get to reach out to your entire audience and let them know that you are speaking at an event!!  Instant notoriety!! The mere fact that you are the speaker tells everyone that you are somebody with something to offer and something to say.  Now, I mentioned your entire audience – this is the opportunity.  The people in the room are great, but equally or potentially more valuable is the noise that you can create outside the room.  The greatest thing is that this happens as soon as you start promoting the event.  Press send on that email and you say to the universe “I am a somebody with something valuable to say”.  Your audience will take notice and they will start to see you in a different light.  You will bring your closest and furthest supporters closer.  The best thing is that the people that may have not believed in you will say things like “Wow, Amy is speaking at that event as a panel speaker, I guess I was wrong, she really has succeeded.”  Your credibility is now established by letting them know you are a speaker at an event.  Now, lets amplify this by the fact that you will get the fruits of the other speakers audiences and not to forget about online as well, but we will get to that in a moment.  Then as you do more and more talks, it has a compounding effect “
